Description

The Chalk Bass is a hardy specimen that will do well in community tanks and is considered to be the most peaceful and smallest of the Basses. The beautiful electric blue bands of the Chalk Bass is a great addition to your aquarium as it is a relatively peaceful fish. Unlike most of the other Bass family, it will not eat other tank mates and invertebrates with the exception of the smaller anemone shrimp.

Offer plenty of caves and overhangs for hiding places. May tend to jump if frightened or chased and will hang out in the water column once accustomed to its surroundings.

Diet

Eats a varied diet of crustacean flesh, mysis shrimp, fish flesh, flake and pellet as well as most anything that is fed to the rest of it’s tank mates.
